Perhaps the formula could be based on rake. It's easier to muffle the difference between lower buyins and higher buyins.

This formula makes a win at a 9-person $530 twice as valuable as a win at the 11s or 16s (same rake):

Points only awarded for ITM finishes.
N=Number of people in SNG
P=Place
R=Rake

<font color="purple">SQRT(N/P) * 20 * R^(1/5)</font>

Here are some sample numbers:

<font color="blue">1st</font>/<font color="red">2nd</font>/<font color="green">3rd place</font>, 9 person SNG:

5.50/6.50: <font color="blue">52.23</font>/<font color="red">36.93</font>/<font color="green">30.16</font>
11/16: <font color="blue">60</font>/<font color="red">42.43</font>/<font color="green">34.64</font>
22/27: <font color="blue">68.92</font>/<font color="red">48.73</font>/<font color="green">39.79</font>
33: <font color="blue">74.74</font>/<font color="red">52.85</font>/<font color="green">43.15</font>
55/60: <font color="blue">82.78</font>/<font color="red">58.54</font>/<font color="green">47.80</font>
109/114: <font color="blue">93.11</font>/<font color="red">65.84</font>/<font color="green">53.75</font>
215: <font color="blue">103.12</font>/<font color="red">72.92</font>/<font color="green">59.54</font>
530: <font color="blue">118.46</font>/<font color="red">93.76</font>/<font color="green">68.39</font>

One quick observation from the above is that a first place is worth approx. the same as a 2nd place 3 buyins higher. I'm not saying that's good or bad, just something consistant I noticed.

I had one other thought: could pokerstars reward players bonuses for getting X number of 1sts in a month? For instance, every 100 wins gets you 500 extra leaderboard points (regardless of buyin level).

Hi all,

I've been following this thread with interest since it started a few weeks back. Why? Because I'm the 'Stars employee that came up with idea that is currently under review. I know that sounds far-fetched, but you can ask Jurollo, because he helped me work on the latest draft

Though clearly no idea is going to please everyone, I think you'll like what we've come up with. Unless he's been weaving an elaborate bluff on me, Jurollo has certainly given it his approval!

I can't give away much, but I can say that the idea caters for nearly all of your concerns.

It sounds as though the prospect of a S&amp;G leaderboard has been met with widespread approval. What I'd love for you all to do now, is start applying some pressure on my fabulous employers

I've been excited about this idea since it kept me awake all night one fateful date in June. I've pushed it as hard as I dare and I've made good progress. But if you want to see a S&amp;G reward program in place sooner rather than later, it's time for some player pressure!

I may well have over-stepped the mark by posting here, but I really believe in my idea and I want it to happen.

I'll keep lurking on the board and I'll contribute where I can. Thanks for all your comments so far!

I recommend that you have points for each sng ITM'ed based on the % of prizepool won, and some function of the total buyin.

Additionally, to counteract volume inflation to some degree, create a multiplier in (0,1) that you must multiply your total points by, where it is some function of volume that you ITMed. (example, if you ITM 1000 sngs, you might only get 95% of your points, and ITM 2000 sngs only gets 90% of your points, and ITM 4000 only gets 85% of your points .. something like that (but not that exactly. - also it needs to be continuous, so working with our current example, itming 1500 sngs gives you bewteen 95% and 90% of your points.))

I like this one. Have top ten play a STT for prize(s) each week, month, etc.

Yeah, playing for WSOP seats like the MTT leaderboard would be nice.

I already told them in my Supernova email that I could use an SNG leaderboard to get me motivated to play more, cause I just haven't been motivated at all lately.

Leader board yes.

Volume is key. Anything else could discourage play towards the end of the month, bad for players and stars.

Edit: I like Full TIlts system.
