Default Bankroll

back story- In august at one point I was up about 6k, for a 19year old who doesnt get to play live alot, this was a pretty solid amount. I was grinding out 1/2nl online, and decided to put my full bankroll inplay at a 5-10 game did well (2k in one night) and played those stakes for a week. I played a live 1/2 game in pittsburgh and cashed out over 1000. (This was all in a weekend), and then won 400 the next weekend at my regular 1/2nl in roanoke VA.
Anyways long story short I have now been on a streak where I cannot win a hand. I am down all of that profit, I have since stopped playing 5/10 and def. have been sticking w. 1/2 maybe 2/4. I just seem to suffer ridiculous beat after beat, I havent changed my style at all from the end of august when I could not loose a hand, I dono what to do. I feel like I constantly get my money in with the best of it but usually by the time its all said and done I come up short.Help please?

You ran well, now you are running badly. I'd suggest running well again.

New poster here, but I had to add my 2 cents after reading this. Chances are you ARE playing different than when you were winning big. Unless you have the logs to back up your thought process of playing the same... i'd say you aren't. No bash or disrespect intented or implied, its just the way we are. The hard part is putting yourself back into the game you had a month ago..

This comes off as crass, but it is pretty accurate. If you want to play way above your bankroll, you have no choice, you can't afford to run bad without losing most if not your entire bakroll.

I guess the message is play within your roll. Bad beats and cold streaks will happen. You need the patience and bankroll to withstand this part of the game.
Regards,
Carl

You could run poorly for 20,000 hands with EASE. This means live you could run bad for four or five hundred hours of play. Thats alot of play. This is why we don't play above our rolls.
