"Since I've been loving you" on the Zeppelin Dvd is absolutely amazing, way better than the live cd or studio version. Page just [censored] tears it up here to the point of ridiculousness.

Phish did the same thing, but that's probably more of function of how often they were on the road (in between recording the album and it's release date). I remember reading an article with Trey where he said they were never really pleased with any of their studio albums. Something along the lines of not being able to capture their sound in the studio. Also, I think a lot of it has to do with the experience of the live show (the fans, the lights, the vibe).

Well , I mean all the jammies do that as well for the most part, but the Q still remains when that song hits studio, is that the way the band wants you to hear it.

Obv we are very stoned during this debate

The Who's version of Summertime Blues on Live at Leeds is probably better than any other recorded version of Summertime blues.

Most of the songs on hendrix's Live at The Albert Hall cd are better than his recorded versions.

off of live sh*t binge and purge? I really cant stand the 10 minutes of random mexicans on the mic yelling seek and destroy. Great cd, not a great version of this song

Also im really surprised at how little dmb has been mentioned. Not really a fan, but have enjoyed a few live shows of theirs.

Tool - Pushit (from the Salival CD) is the single best Tool song they have, and it's miles better than the original.

The Eagles - Hotel California (from the Live Double Disk) has an opening that is unmatched. I don't like the original because of this version.
