If you end up giving in to the demands of a small (albeit vocal) group I will be very disappointed. 2+2 is not an acurate representation of the poker world at large. Giving out names in your HH's will ruin your games (and then we'll have to listen to all these people bitch and moan about how bad the games are...*sigh*).

Yes, the tables are tighter than they were a few years ago, but this was happening before HUDs became popular. More smart, intellegent people are learning poker for the sole purpose of making money. Instead of changing their game and learning to adapt, people would rather blame outside influences on their results.

Yes Party is much tighter now than even a year ago and certainly way way way tighter than 2003 or so. Maybe some of you guys werent playing poker pre-hud but the games were soft as hell. My winrate overall has gotten torched by the fact that people are more educated and can play a simple game at 10 tables because of HUD. (from 3bb/100 at 10/20 to about 1.4bb/100 over the last year) Anyone that really thinks HUDs are good for poker is not thinking about this correct.

Sure you make more when you use a HUD versus not, why wouldnt you. But the truth is that the skilled players were making much more especially at limit holdem 3 years ago than now. There are many reasons for that but a large part of that is the fact that HUDs came into existance and are used by many, and the fact that there are people 10 tabling playing 20-15 poker now at every turn when three years ago there werent.

The bottom line is the HUDS are choking poker to a slow but sure death (and this is coming from someone who has been making a lot of money at poker for a long time). If the current trend of multitabling grinders using HUD to play 47 tables continues, many 2+2ers will be out of a job sooner rather than later.

WPEX you are doing the right thing here, i think anyone who has played poker for a long time and remembers what online poker was like years ago wishes we could go back to HUDless poker. Thanks for doing your part to make this happen.

Party has a bajillion players and spends a bajillion dollars on advertising to keep new players coming in...WPEX, not so much.

Give free reign to the skilled players who can further increase their advantage by using HUD's and the games at WPEX will stop growing...it'll turn into another absolute where you have the weaker bonus whores breaking even and feeding the more skilled bonus whores with their bonus & rakeback money.

Frankly I don't care all that much (really I just like to cause trouble and stir [censored] up). I have a job now and don't play very much anymore, but you guys are going to kill the golden goose by being too greedy too soon with WPEX.

Today I thought what the hell, I'll throw some money on WPEX and give it another try for the fun of it.

But when I logged in there wasn't even two tables on the NL limit I play.



Come on Ding-Dong, seriously man, there is nothing to even play and this is almost 2pm on a Friday afternoon.

At least with a few soft hud bots there would be some tables to play on.

Can anyone really argue this???

Again, I don't give a flip about huds, yes I use them, but there is nobody to play with for crying out loud.

Gregg, you bring up a good point. It seems like more people play LHE at WPEX than NL. The NL seems to be pretty dead. Go play some 3/6 or 5/10 LHE.

I never said the game selection was superior. Just I like their new changes.

WPX has never had much of NL population and that combined with mediocre software is why I hardly ever play there.

Absence of huds will not make the population of players at a site grow. You need bonuses and marketing for that. The site would probably do better to have 50% direct rakeback with the other 50% distributed as bonuses.

Presence of huds in a small population of players will increase the rate at which the loose passives go broke by increasing the edge of the small winners (a group I would include myself among). The really good players and the aggressive poor players are probably less affected by huds.

I don't really care one way or the other which sites allow huds and which don't (although if sites could offer more clearly defined policies about permitted software, that would be nice...), although I would like a few places where I can play without them. I do use them at the big sites (somewhat in self defense) but sometimes would prefer a different experience.

FWIW, I think the biggest advantage I get from huds is quickly spotting TAGs and nutpeddlers.

Also, I want to point out that I don't think WPEX is small because of HUD/no HUD MeowChow, whatever.

I think they're small because of the lack of advertising.
