i think zantigo was a great mexican chain. taco bell thought so too, so they bought them and halted their operations. lots of taco bells in the area, and now other businesses are operating in distinctive old zantigo buildings. the claim to fame was that everything on the menu was under a dollar. i've heard it's coming back in minnesota, but i'm not sure it's the same thing. my memories are from my childhood though, so perhaps it's skewed.
one thing that's NOT skewed is that taco bell is far, far worse because of the cheese the now use. the old stuff was thinly-shredded, and the texture/melting/non-melted pockets made all of the difference. i don't eat there often, but every time i do i'm reminded of how good it used to be. |

Kellogg's <font color="brown">Chocolate</font> Frosted Flakes.
They reappeared briefly a few years ago on a couple of trips back to England and I would bring boxes back. Also, Oxtail cup-a-soup. Crazy that you can't get that any more. |
