Default Get Back Here, I\'m Not Finished With You!

Prima 20/40. Villain is a very good 35/25 type. I open A6hh from the SB and he 3 bets in the big. Flop T53 1 heart. I check, he bets, I raise. Turn T not heart. I bet he calls. River 9 I check he bets I fold.

Most of them are randomly generated movie quotes or bits from a piece of music. I should probably mention that I wouldn't be surprised if this guy 3 bet me here with Q9o.

I am not sure that the flop checkraise ever accomplishes much against these guys. I think you will usually be better off with c/c, c/c, c/decide.

I don't see the flop check raise as a very good play unless he's 3-betting you a ton. The rest of the hand seems fine to me though.

My decision to contest the pot is questionable. Consider, though, the following:

Top 24%:

Board: Th 5c 3d
Dead:

equity (%) win (%) tie (%)
Hand 1: 39.8132 % 38.23% 01.58% { Ah6h }
Hand 2: 60.1868 % 58.60% 01.58% { 55+, A2s+, K6s+, Q8s+, J8s+, T9s, A8o+, K9o+, QTo+, JTo }

Top 15%:

Board: Th 5c 3d
Dead:

equity (%) win (%) tie (%)
Hand 1: 34.7427 % 32.74% 02.00% { Ah6h }
Hand 2: 65.2573 % 63.25% 02.00% { 66+, A5s+, KTs+, QTs+, JTs, A8o+, KJo+, QJo }

This is one of those situations where, depending on your opponent and what you think he thinks of you it may sometimes be better to attack than to call down. I'm happy with the hand in retrospect.

Your decision to 'contest the pot' doesn't have to involve c/r'ing the flop, or getting aggro anywhere, does it?

If you're ahead of his range and the board is good for you let him bluff away.

Think about what actually happens when you c/r and what happens when you call down when you apply things like "will not out-fastplay me with a worse hand (95%)". Calling down is only better if I can collect a river bet with a high frequency.

w/o some superior read I'd prolly peel the turn and give up or possibly give up on the flop.

The better and more long time poster the worse subject line.

We can't have 1000 posts with tra la la la etc but some
don't really care.
