Not that it isn't a very impressive graph, but if he's playing mostly 15-30 then that's less than 1BB/100.

Serious Question: How long have you been playing poker? How long did it take to learn the beat the games for the (wicked) rate you are? Your graph is a real inspiration for me. Ian [/ QUOTE ] I've been playing for 2 years, but I was lurking around on this forum, and had read some of the 2+2 books before I started playing, so I did know some theory before I started. I don't think my winrate is "wicked" though. I'm sure there are some posters here, who are beating the games I play for 2-3 BB/100 (and quite a lot of posters with a similar winrate). |

Thanks for taking the time to reply. One more question please: How many hours a week do you put in on average? (playing only -not studying / posting, etc)
Cheers, Ian |

Are these graphs just a little depressing to anyone else? Sure, they look good, but if you look closely you'll see that some of the best players on the internet seem to be averaging 1 to 1.5 BB/100 at best. I remember when I started (maybe a year ago) it seemed like a solid player could be expected to average 2BB/100, and many ran hotter.
I will say that just lately it seems like the tables have loosened up a bit...perhaps it's the 2006 WSOP on TV effect. Sorry for the thread hijack. BTW I play 15-20hrs/week on average...but I have a full time job. |

Are these graphs just a little depressing to anyone else? [/ QUOTE ] I find them a great comfort. Seeing solid players loosing 300-400BB makes my current downsing much more bearable for some reason. |

[ QUOTE ] Jeez, looks like 138k hands of break even poker. [/ QUOTE ] 420BB downswing when I moved up to 5/10 from 3/6. 300BB downswing when I moved up to 10/20 from 5/10. $$$$$ when I moved up to 15/30. [/ QUOTE ] I don't get the "and then I quit poker" part. |
