wow, Sweden sounds pretty awesome from that blurb

The cons aren't so bad, I'm ok with some melodrama, and I'm an Aussie (sort of). I'm sold

Sweden here I come!

edit: wait is there any good skiing in Sweden? if not it looks like a close tossup between Sweden and Norway

Don't go to Finland. Supposedly it's not a part of Scandinavia.

Oh yeah I forgot this. I got to start remembering this one already. IIRC Sweden has some but again no information..
Edit: I'd probably go for sweden here. The times I've been there it has been really nice.

Sweden is great - my kids live there so I am over there about 6 times a year (so probably have been 35 times in the last 4 years) - Women are insane looking, everyone speaks English under 50, and did I mention women are insane looking - however I would leave NOW if I was you - it is a great and wondeful place in the summer (wsa there last week) - in the winter it kinda sucks as the days are very, very short and it is COLD (I am normally in Mid-Nothern Sweden so it is a little more extreme in the swings than somewhere like Stockholm or Gottenberg).....Enjoy (and the women are insane, and easy!)

PS. My only con in Sweden is everyone, and mean everyone is Tall - I am 6"1' and in Canada I am generally a pretty big guy, at a club in Stockholm all I see other peoples shoulders, serously they grow them big over there.....

Finland is and is not part of the Scandinavia:

[ QUOTE ]
Scandinavia is a region in Northern Europe named after the Scandinavian Peninsula [citation needed]. The original and most common definition includes the tree countries, continental Denmark, mainland Norway and Sweden. Sometimes Finland is included, even in official contexts [1], although since the rise of Scandinavism in 1850s, this inclusion divides opinions in all of the respective states.

* In the English language, "Scandinavia" is often used as a synonym for the Nordic countries.

* In Denmark, Sweden and Norway, Finland is usually not counted as a part of Scandinavia.

The usage and meaning of the term outside Scandinavia is somewhat ambiguous:

* From a German point of view, Norway, Sweden and Finland are usually included, but Denmark is not.

* From a British point of view, Norway, Sweden, and Denmark are usually included, often with the addition of Iceland and Finland.

[/ QUOTE ]

Go figure.

It depends. I think Denmark might be the best choice. Very friendly people. But if you want to see nice nature Norway is best, but people are a not as open in Norway as in Denmark.
Why don't you try a little bit of each country and make up your own mind?

BTW i am from Norway..

^^ There is a lot of truth to this statement, Copenhagen is a great place to party, and the nature in Norway is amazing.

As for the skiing, I think it's a tossup between Sweden and Norway. But I only been skiing in Norway once so maybe someone who is more into it would have a different opinion.

Good Swedish resorts are Åre and Treriksröset.
