Default HUD Questions

I'm just starting to get into using stats. I have bought PokerTracker and PokerOffice to play around with for now, I think I am started to grasp both of them. I've tried out a few HUDs (PokerOffice's Live Tracker, PT's GameTime, and PokerAce) and so far I think I like GT (PokerOffice isn't bad either. I play mostly 1/2 Limit of $50NL My questions are:

1.) What HUD software is the most useful/effcient/simple/popular to use?

2.) What are the most important stats I should include in my HUD? Keep in mind, simpler is better as far as I'm concerned. I don't want 5,000 numbers all over the screen.

3.) Is there any advantage in using PT over PO or visa versa? Or should I continually be using both?

4.) How many of you are currently datamining? I know its against T&C on some sites and I don't really want to get into it because I think its useless at my level.

Thanks for any thoughts.

1) PokerAce
2) This really is personal preference but the obvious ones are vp$p, pfr, wtsd, w$sd.
3) PO is a sort of one stop shop, but you can get the same functionality using PT with PAHUD and Poker Patterns. Poker Tracker and PAHUD support are both very good which is why I think they have become the most popular.
4) Many people datamine I would guess. If you sit down and have a couple hundred hands on someone your in an advantageous position, why wouldn't you do it ? ps. Datamining will be difficult when the new party beta becomes the standard although I dare say someone is probably working on a way around it right now.

But this is why we need a sticky. I'm sure he'd find all of this stuff in a decent write-up. All 4 of these questions are reasonable for somebody new to the forum, but answered once a week around here. Is there anything we can do about this, without breaking the 2+2 Advertising policy?

1. PAHUD (though GT+ is simpler to use, free and covers more sites than PAHUD)
2. have a look at pokerace software forums (makers of PAHUD)
3. I use PO2 on iPoker - it's ok and arguably better than PT for post play analysis but its HUD is far short of PAHUD. also PT covers many more sites.
4. Most 2+2'ers do at Party. I use PO2 to mine at iPoker (small player pool so very handy). Personally when I play party/prima etc I mined a table for about 20-30 mins before sitting down. - I don't bother with mass datamining but if I played Party really heavily I might (at least for now)

A word of warning - don't be lazy and not make specific notes as well !

[/ QUOTE ]I didn't mean to be unchill. I just tried to say that we're getting the same questions every 3 days. (When the sides of the lil' yellow face turn up at the sides like that, it means I'm not worried about harm to anybody. )

Anyway, it seems I'm the only one with their panties in a bunch about this, so I'll drop it. Can somebody tell me where to download Pokertracker?

If you're interested in simple PokerOffice is really best. It is a little more expensive, though.

I think most people here who recommend PokerTracker here have not actually tried PokerOffice 2. (Not to slight anyone since PT is a good product, too).

I've never tried Pokeroffice, but I can certainly say that PokerTracker's support is top notch. Pat puts alot of effort into helping people out.

LOL I have both - PO2 is free is you play 200 raked hands at Noble Poker having signed up thru them - anyone who thinks the PO2 HUD is currently better than or anywhere near on a par with PAHUD is smoking something!
Doesn't even have WtSD% never mind continuation bet, agression frequency etc.. what's annoying is that these are small things to fix - it's pretty clear that the designers haven't really studied the competition

On the iPoker network (that I play on) there is curerntly a bug - whenever you go all in and lose vs a shorter stack it treats you as losing your entire stack - only way to fix this is to manually edit those hands - that bug's been around for a couple of week at least on the suppot forums- I'm sure they are busy guys but PT Pat would have fixed it in 24 hrs if that had been in PT..

PO2 probably is better 'sofware' from a coders point of view and does have excellent post play analysis, but it's achilles heels are the lower number of sites and inferior HUD at the moment - until it fixes those it isn't going to take a sigificant number of players away from PT + PAHUD. That said fixes for the HUD should be coming soon, and it should then overtake PT in its current state..
