I find LAG players very hard to play against, can you recommend a good strategy other than leaving the table? $50nl 6max

there are few good lags at this level, most have pretty big weaknesses. Try to get position on them, and then play a bit tighter and wait for a hand to break them with. Semi-bluff less as lags tend to be callingstations.

leave if they have position on you.
LAGs who don't fold, wait for TT-AA, AK and stack their ass LAGs who make moves but fold to pressure. find out what their bluff moves are (they usually have one or two moves they use all the time like check minraising c-bets, bluffing at checks/small bets, 3-barrelling half pot bets) and either counterbluff them or if you have something call down. |

[/ QUOTE ] What he said. Except on a non folding Lag you dont have to wait for Ak or 10s+. You can raise them with lots of hands because they will be callig with inferior hands oop which is very good for you. Post flop just dont bluff and perfect the art of value betting |

If LAG is sitting on your right stay and play - if LAG is sitting on your left change seats or leave immediately.
i)Unless you got a monster hand don't play against a LAG oop. ii) until you get to be good at reading hands don't bet at them without a good hand (say 2pair +) iii) by their natire they are raising mediocre hands preflop so you don't need quite as good hands to call - if LAG is reasonable they are never ever ever putting big money uinto a pot without a decent hand, modus operandii for a LAG is to keep winning many medium sized pots and get well paid with your monster hands, so if you re-raise a reasonable LAG on the flop and he hasn't hit well he folds most of the time. If you got the goods and LAG is betting at you keep check calling, and then raise big on the river. Don't raise a LAG on early streets if you got a great hand as you'll probably scare him off. There are good spots to bluff at LAGs but until you can read their hand ranges DO NOT BLUFF AT THEM. If you have something like PA HUD and can see their stats open up pokerstove - say they are 35/25/3 In Pokerstove click on the "player1" button and then choose the "preflop" tab. This takes you to the Holdem Distribution screen which is a table of all possible hands so that you can select hand ranges for a player to input into the stove. Underneath the table there is a slider that goes from 0% to 100% - set this slider to match LAGs preflop stats (in our example we'd choose 35%) and this will give you a rough approximation of what hands they are calling/raising with. |

3-bet them alot more preflop
dont let them run you over playing passive and setting traps work well |
