Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band-The Beatles
Honorable mention: Nevermind the Bullocks -The Sex Pistols (if they qualify for rock & roll) |

do you really think that IV> II? II is the most mind blowing stuff since the yardbirds. IV is just jimmy page pretension mainfesting itself in stolen licks and awful attempts at "poetry". as for the who, i think the who sell out is a lot better than who's next. who's next is a fantastic album, but after baby o'reilly the album drags until the second side. if i really wanted to start a big internet fight, i'd say that "the who sings my generation" is clearly their best album. i think that i can make a pretty awesome argument there, btw. i share your sentiments regarding quad fwiw. as for the hipster stuff, that was mainly just ribbing. although i expected you to say revolver as the best rar album. you guys love that stuff. [/ QUOTE ] II is great and underappreciated, but IV is a masterpiece. it's probably so overplayed that you don't appreciate some of the stuff anymore, with II at the opposite end of the spectrum |

Although OK Computer is my favorite album of all-time, for " Greatest Rock & Roll Album from Start to Finish" I would pick:
The Stone Roses |
