[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Anyone old Anyone who didn't speak english Anyone who didn't want to represent the game Anyone rich Anyone who represented themself very poorly at the table Anyone who would cause "average people" to dislike them at the table. Jamie Gold is middle aged. [/ QUOTE ] This other stuff I don't care about but anyone who calls me "middle-aged" is going to be hunted down and destroyed with all the power an elite champion of poker can bring to bear. [/ QUOTE ] Great. [/ QUOTE ] i thought imping was against the rules or something. it's an imposter so just ban him. |

Villians to some degree are great for a sport. If my Red Sox are out of it, I will watch any Yankees games to root against them. It was them same way with Hellmuth and Matusow (although I kind of like them at times now). [/ QUOTE ] Started to like Hellmuth myself He grows on you or something lol I thought the coverage last night/this morning was great, and that Gold was a dick for the most part. A couple of times I wanted to go through the tv and smack him. I think the best moment of the entire night was Cunningham calling him with A high and taking down the pot lol. |

I think the worst winner would be Mike Matusow... a complete degenerate gambling cokehead who is also a total douchebag.
And on behalf of all 36 year olds, let me say [censored] you for calling us middle-aged. |

I really hope they aren't taking this as harsh as they are portraying. But if you are, I do apologize for not picking my words a little better, or having a better understanding of the claims that I put forth. |

He played well (and got lucky like any champion) for a week, so it doesn't really matter how "qualified" he is for the win.

LOL at OP for suggesting that someone like Sabyl Cohen would have been better for the growth of the poker industry than Jamie Gold.
I think that there couldnt have been a BETTER possible winner than Gold. He is well-spoken and by his own admission he is still learning how to play better. He didn't need suck outs to win. Chip leader from 135 left to the end, he completely dominated the last 4 days of play. He is not a full-time poker addict who spends 12 hours a day multi-tabling. He is not some well-known name that needed years of practice to hone his game. He will be the perefct foil for all these young punks who think they would have been a more deserving winner because of all their testosterone-fuelled "mad skillz". For the rest of the populace, he just continues in the mold of Moneymaker, Raymer and Hachem; a guy who entered a tournament, played his game and came out with $12,000,000. |

Jamie,
If you need a senior citizen to help you kill that whippersnapper let me know. Never bet against "old" age and guile. LAtoLV 44 |
