I wonder if team PS signs him

[/ QUOTE ]

He is already part of the Bodog team.

[/ QUOTE ]

I really doubt if he is already signed to a long term deal w/ Bodog. I'm also not sure that he would sign any endorsment deal, given that he already has $8m in cash, had money beforehand, and no seeming desire to be famous.

that said, there's no way Stars would sign someone whose biggest and only claim to fame came while wearing a BODOG.NET hat

Bodog better start running some commercials with Gold sitting in a chair talking about how he's the same guy, nicer yacht...or wutever.

Stop Hating. The guy just won 12million. If you want to reopen this thread move it to the WSOP forum.

Is it -EV to feel embarrassed by what the OP has posted? I hope we don't get too many people reading this thread. I had so much more respect for the OP before this thread. It's almost sickening.

[/ QUOTE ]

I don't think you read my post approriately.

I'm not saying I don't like older people. Or Math people. Or pros. Or non- pros.

All I'm talking about is who I wanted to win the ME, from a EV perspective.

Meaning, if a hot teenage girl won it, tons of guys would begin taking up the game thinking girls were playing more poker. I have no idea why this is sickening. Even if I'm wrong, it's just an opinion, Clayton even disagrees with it.

Anyone old

[/ QUOTE ]
I take offense. Poker point of view or not.

Enough bracelets are being taken down by young cocky hot shots.

Poker is about more than having the fearlessness and in-exhaustable energy of a 26 year old college drop-out.

Life experience and maturity are very fine qualities, and claiming it would be "-EV" for poker to see them take the high seat for once is little short of ludicrous.

[/ QUOTE ]

Once again,

I'm not saying I didn't want someone older to win the bracelet. I'm speaking from strictly the point of view that if a 21 year old college frat boy won the WSOP, TONS of 21 year old college frat boys would begin to play poker. If a 65 year old grandpa won the WSOP, very very few 65 year old grandpa's are going to begin playing online poker.

To elaborate further, before you guys blow up all over me.

I realize that Hachem, Fossilman, and Moneymaker were all in their 30's. I'm not saying they were bad for the game. But at THIS POINT in poker, I thought someone different would be good for the game.

Moneymaker brought in all of the regular people who wanted to win the WSOP. We all know he changed the demographic.

Raymer was a super nice guy, who was good at poker. He was amazing for the game because he is so nice to people and so skilled at the same time. He's done an amazing amount of interviews, and still does more public appearances than Hachem because of his location and general likability.

It looks like he's going to be doing more public stuff than he initially let on, good for him.
