[ QUOTE ]
Backing in is usually better. Because the front wheels turn, it's actually easier to get into and out of a parking spot if you back in. Also, visibility is better when coming out of the spot, and for crowded events where everybody's leaving at the same time, it's easier to squeeze into traffic if you're heading out instead of backing out. [/ QUOTE ] Nice to see safety considerations included in the discussion. |

Not exactly what you asked but....
I always back in to my 1 car garage because it is just easier with the amount of maneuvering space available. But the main reason I do back in is because, living in a multi-unit apartment complex with kids running around when leaving the garage I can see everything much better than if I was backing out. This is good practice where pedestrians may be present. polltard |

I back into spots as my default. If I had to guess, I'd say ~90% of the time.

I don't get those people that are backing into spots all the time. I guess those are the poepl that want to leave quickly. Maybe they think they'll be in a better position to get out if a tsunami hits or something.

I think I was raised that men back into parking spaces or something. I have no idea where I picked it up though really.

I don't understand. It's easier to back out into a big open space than to back into a small tight space. [/ QUOTE ] |

Easily pulling through if available is the way to go.
