I am perfectly fine if you lock the threads. That is definitely another way to get the point across.

As for your suggestion to not read the threads, that's exactly what I do when they become stupid list threads. However, when someone like Phoenix starts what is intended to be a really interesting TLDR thread and posters like Dom completely derail it by turning it into a list thread, I find that annoying.
