Let's see, roommate who constantly smacks his girlfriend around and has a domestic violence arrest warrant out against him thinks he should file a complaint when the cops come looking for him, all while you're both performing a dubiously legal activity. This is not going to end well.
Seriously, you're just giving the cops pretext to seize your computer, and when they start searching it, they may find something else, including inadvertent kiddie/teen porn. Does no one ever watch Law & Order? As someone said above, roommate who attracts cops is definitely -EV. Get rid of roommate. It's tough to 8-table from Rikers Island.

Because I dont get why the cops were there if... a) The charges were dropped the next day and b) Why would they consider you an internet poker fraud in the first place, how did they even know you played poker online? A warrant for your roommates arrest for domestic violence does not include questioning you on your internet usage. c) [censored] it, its made up.

[/ QUOTE ] You didn't mention the datamining part in yr OP. I can see some [censored] cop doing this (they aren't generally the sharpest tools in the shed), but this story is a bit fantanstic. It's been entertaining though (IMO at least).
