I had one of those things too. Interesting story: It had always been little and the doctor told me to get it operated on, but I was like no way it's little and I'm not having surgery on something that isn't even noticable. This was a general physician who cut under the skin instead of lancing it, so I was like no way.

Well one Sunday morning, I wake up, go to the bathroom to brush my teeth, and holy sh*t what the hell is that? The cist ,in one night (no lie), went from smaller than a penny to like an inch diameter (bout size of OP's). Imagine walking in front of the mirror and seeing that. I was freaking out. And this was when I lived in a dorm so you can imagine the hell I caught. It took about two weeks from the time it ballooned to the time I had surgery. I would be walking campus and people would be looking at me and do the double take thing, where they would look at me once, then notice the baseball on the side of my face, and look again like what the [censored] is that? It was a sucky two weeks to say the least lol.

But I had it cut off thru incision, and I have a scar that goes from the bottom of my ear to where my jaw curves in, but its not too noticable because it runs along the underside of my jawbone. Good luck with it though to the OP.
