[ QUOTE ]
Joe O, Do you mean win main event ever or win main event this year? I would say the odds are about the following: Win ME this year: 4-1 against Win ME this year or next: 2-1 against Win ME in next five years: even money Win ME in next ten years: 2-1 for (would be higher, but there's a chance he dies prior to then) [/ QUOTE ] El D - Are you serious? Now, I know you aren't a bookie, but if you are interested, I'd like to bet that Madsen DOES win in the next two years. Are you really offering me 2:1 on this wager? I've PMed you an amount that I'd like to wager. For reasons that I'm sure you understand, I'm not going to publicly announce it. Also, I have complete trust in you, so I see no need to set up a 3rd party escrow. However, if you'd like, I understand. Best wishes, Josh |

[ QUOTE ] After keeping up this pace for even as little as a few years, he's going to be unbelievably wealthy. Factor the supplemental income from the inevitable endorsements, what's to stop him from retiring at 25? 23? [/ QUOTE ] I agree - there is a good chance Madsen will retire. I have known many gamblers who won lots of money, and then they quit gambling forever. People are generally smart enough to protect their wealth by putting the money into treasury bonds, then retiring to a place like San Diego - never to be seen in a card room again. El Diablo, do you agree that this will almost cerainly happen? [/ QUOTE ] it's working for Fischman |

as much as i can accept that madsen is possibly the best player ever and certainly the greatest of our generation, i dont think you guys are fully taking in to account the role potential injuries can play. sure he is probably 20% to take down the ME this year, but in future years poker-related injuries like cocaine overdoses, carpal tunnel or stds from hookers could seriously hamper madsens chances.
i will gladly take action on that 2:1 bet against madsen winning the next 2 years too. |

El D,
Quick question. The event I finished second in this year was my first ever WSOP event. Given that kind of record as a first-timer, is it safe to say that if I had won the bracelet, I would, at least temporarily, have merited consideration as the best tournament player of all time? |

[/ QUOTE ] FYP. But in answer to your question ... Yes. Your projected bracelet count would be equal to the number of WSOP tournaments you intended to play. |

[/ QUOTE ] However, due to nath's failure to win the bracelet, his projected number of bracelets is zero no matter how many he ends up playing. Ergo, he cannot even be considered a top tournament player. |

If there's one thing lamer than the droves who missed the joke, it's all you self-loving know-it-alls trying to out-sarcastic each other.

i think you started this just to have a laugh and stir things up.
when phil concentrates, or as he says is focused, i think there is no better tournament player in the world. |

Where in the world is Stuey!? Since he's not on here, which is major -EV, then I guess I'll have to settle for Brunson.

[/ QUOTE ] I'm pretty sure your actual result puts you in the running for "Biggest Loser Of All Time" a la Erik Seidel. Anyway, your question is ridiculous. Would the Milwaukee Brewers be considered one of the greatest sports dynasties if they won 12 straight World Series? |
