well i'm out after an uneventful first couple of hours this hand comes up utg+2 (20k or so) raises to 600, i'm utg+3 (15k or so) with AA, smooth call, BB moves all in for like 1500, utg+2 re raises all in, i call BB got A10, UTG+2 got JJ, I got AA flop 10 J J who knows what came on the turn and river because i left good game [/ QUOTE ] I would have stuck around to see the turn and river. You could have still made quad aces if you were playing on one of those tables with 5 aces in the deck. |

Nath Pizzolato doubles up when he flops a set of eights against an opponent who is holding a set of aces. So, that's how you manage to win all the time? |

[ QUOTE ]
On a board of Kd Qd 5d Ah, the player of the big blind bet $500, a player in late position raises to $1,100, and after a few moments consideration, Jennifer Harman calls. The big blind reraises all-in for approximately $8,000 total. The player in late position mucks, and Harman thinks for a while then tries to muck the Ad Qh facedown, but it flips over accidentally, revealing her two pair and nut flush draw. I realize this isn't much information to go on, but I'm interested in what the peanut gallery thinks of the play here from all three people in the hand. [/ QUOTE ] I can't speak for the two hands that weren't revealed, but Harman's fold seems correct. The raiser likely had a straight or small flush (very minimum a set), so Harman was drawing to at-most 12 outs (9 flush cards, but 3 full-house cards). As a 3:1 underdog, she can't call. Even if she puts her opponent on reasonable chance of bluffing (let's say 25%), it's a -EV play to call. Also, if her opponent has a small flush (a reasonable possibility), two of her outs are gone. -Aces |

"Demetriou Takes Down Nice Pot
Harry Demetriou minimum raises before the flop and gets one caller. The flop comes 1083 and Demetriou fires out $1,200 into the pot. Demetriou's opponent then makes it $3,500 to go. Demetriou thinks for a short time and finally makes the call. The turn brings the A and both players check. The river brings the 6 and Demetriou fires $3,000 into the pot. His opponent calls and Demetriou shows KK. After mucking, Demetriou's opponent says that Harry could have busted him if he moved in on the flop. Harry Demetriou now sits with $16,000." Don-kay |
