i am confused, who are we talking about here? wasn't this thread about ARod? (who by the way is rebounding nicely from his horrendous week)

[/ QUOTE ]

A-Rod and his unjustified treatment by the fans and media. This is what my initial post was in regards to.

see, if you said jeter, you might have had an argument. to say that arod didn't deserve his gold gloves or that he may not the best shortstop (as of say 2 years ago) on this team is erroneous. and ridiculous.

In the ten years, 1996-2005, Jeter averaged 115 runs scored, 192 hits, 30 doubles, 17 home runs, 76 RBIs, 21 stolen bases, .314 batting average, and was on base 2,660 times. Literally.

alex will have 40+ HR, 130+ RBI, and a 300+ avg just like last year, he just had to get some encouragement from the team that's paying him the other 9 million a year

Almost every stat you listed is overrated. Counting stats are magnified greatly by the lineup around you. Derek Jeter is a great player, but you basically just stated why he was overrated without knowing it.

And Batting Average is so 5 years ago.

I did say Jeter was overated and I didn't say A-rod didn't deserve his gold gloves. I'm confused.

This got really confusing really fast. I was saying A-Rod doesn't deserve the treatment that he is getting and is not overated. I then stated that if anything, the revered Derek Jeter is the one that is overated.

I think you meant to quote me when I sarcastically said Jeter = God on a good day.
