This is brutally sick. I don't have the time to play in the tournies nor a winrate at 100 to offset a $0.50 drop regardless if its redistributed elsewhere.

I do not underestimate the chance that Party is storing up a bit of US monies in case we go away. They then redistribute to those who can play and continue collecting rake on it.

Good thing I donked off monies at 400NL and am back at 50NL for the meantime.

Not cool.

Maybe my random-ass-guess method of table selection has just been working out for me today, but I'm at NL100, and the tables seem waaaay juicier than usual. I'm regularly getting like 3 or 4 players to the flop in a raised pot

I had exactly the same experience this evening. It was total madness.

I just played a session of 1/2 and I'm beginning to like this whole promotion for the same reason.

Wow, 2 hours in, and we all LOVE it. How about 5 months from now, when your win rate is sagging because PP plunders every pot you win? Fish go broke. They also forget about promotions. Life goes back to normal. Then PP gets more of your money, and you are duped.

But hey, living high on the hog now, so whatever.

i dont think you should be so sarcastic, but i do agree with your point. long term this looks like killing us.

Sorry for the sarcasm, but I am frustrated. I am not frustrated that PP decided this was best for them; that's capitalism. The problem is that MOST PEOPLE ARE NOT SMART ENOUGH TO FIGURE OUT HOW MUCH IT AFFECTS THEM. And that is truly amazing. PP is relying on the stupidity of the average player, and they should. It's going to make them even wealthier.

excellent point, any more rake for any reason is pernicious.

why is everyone freaking out!

1, it's .50 in every raked pot, not in every pot
2, it's .50 total, not .50/player
3, unless i'm missing something you get all the money back on average over the long run??
4, the structure of the freerolls will make it easy to parlay a weekly entry into an online final entry
5, the fields in these freerolls will be super soft

why is everyone panicking??

Sure, it's a bad promotion overall, but it will bring in plenty of new fish who will be thinking "omg I'm gonna win 5 million dollars!". I can understand leaving if you are playing 100NL, because certainly the bad play will not make up for the added rake, but at 200NL, it is worth it to stay, for now at least, IMO. It's obviously still early but we'll see what happens.

This seems too easy, but if the avg pot goes up by only .50, then we break even? Because avg pot seems to have gone up quite a bit...

This would be true if you won every pot.
