Default cap this turn?

Ultimate Bet 10/20 Hold'em (5 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)
villain here is 34/21/2/200+ I've seen him get outta line mostly with continuation bets, and turn raises when he is in position, he has seen the same from me.

Preflop: Hero is BB with 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].
UTG raises, MP calls, 1 fold, SB calls, Hero calls.

Flop: (8 SB) 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (4 players)
SB checks, Hero checks, UTG bets, MP folds, SB calls, Hero calls.

Turn: (5.50 BB) J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (3 players)
SB checks, Hero checks, UTG bets, SB folds, Hero raises, UTG 3-bets, Hero caps, UTG calls.

River: (13.50 BB) Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero bets, UTG raises, Hero calls.

Final Pot: 17.50 BB

Capping the turn seems fine. I think check-calling the flop is a fairly large error though.

Flop: I'd bet out the flop hoping UTG will raise and knock out some other players or make them pay double.

Turn as Played: When UTG 3Bets, I'd figure him most likely to have KJ, KK or JJ, maybe 33 or K8s. I might look to put in one less between the turn and river than what you did.

You mention Villain can get out of line with turn raises, but how about turn 3-bets?

[/ QUOTE ]this is a standard flop c/r for me but I figured he would read that as a strong hand, we have quite a history.

If he'll read a checkraise from you as a strong play then I don't think you should be capping the turn after he 3bets your c/r.

[/ QUOTE ]well, what I meant by that is he would read a flop screwplay as a strong hand or flush draw. I don't often c/r turns so he doesn't have much of a read on what it represents from me. basically, I was just trying to mix it up by c/r'ing the turn instead of the flop to induce action.
