Get some hydrochloric acid and see how the cotton reacts to it when immersed.

Oh, and $5 to the video fund.

Are we talking like an undershirt? I assume if you cut it up into small pieces, it wouldn't be that big of a deal. That being said, I think it is important that you do this, so that we will all know for future reference on cotton shirt prop betting. If you die, the next person to attempt should at least get $200.

I hate to add strategy to this thread, but..

I think your best bet is to burn the shirt till its jsut a pile of ashes, then blend the ashes in with a milkshake.

By the way, MSNL was the perfect section of this forum. Thank you.

the trick is to make a shirt out of cotton candy. pretty simple.

otherwise i'd try eating a small piece and see what happens. if you choke to death, you probably shouldn't take on the $100 bet.

Six,

Thank you for posting this interesting prop bet here.

I'm pretty sure that cotton should be fine for consumption, it does come from the earth, after all.

I agree with mistermuni about the pile of ashes in a milkshake being the easiest way to do it, but if I were the one making the prop bet, I would insist that he eat the shirt, as is, perhaps allowing him to cut it up into smaller pieces.

To support this endeavor, I will offer to put an extra $100 on the bet, if you make a video of it, with evidence that it is, in fact, you eating the shirt.

Best of luck to you, sir.

Note: I was going to move this, but it is too awesome to move.

EDIT: Just noticed that he wanted to do it in 24 hrs.
I think that it should be reduced to 4 hrs, you can eat anything in 24 hrs.

There should definitely be a forum where we can post great prop bet ideas and how to game them. This group collectively across 2+2 should be able to at least give Slim a run for his money on incredible prop betting...

Well damn it,

Now I really dont know what to do. I have been told by a few sources that cotton has something really bad for you in it and that its really bad to ingest.
I have been told by all you guys that I should do it and make a video of said death. The added money incentives are good too. haha.
Every online doctor I can find won't really tell me anything becasue I think if I do die they this my parents will sue them or something.
Im pretty sure its a bad Idea and Im pretty sure that doing it on a houseboat in the middle of absolutly nowhere is worse.
My stupid friend also was smart enough to have a "your dad is stupid and wont let you do it anyways" clause where I have to forfit 50$.
I am also not allowed to "cook" the shirt in any ways. We decided I can cut it up real small but I can't make a milkshake or bake it or anything (Probobly because it would be too delicious).
The jerk also raised it up to 500$ that I can't eat an entire shirt and pants but I graciously declined.
Anyways long story short (or shirt (haha jk.....not really....or am I....?)) the two sides of the argument are:
For: You guys saying I should do it, die, but make sure I video tape it...
Against: A few people telling my cotton has some super bad chemical in it AND more importantly somebody telling me about an episode of 24 where the guy makes another guy swollow a long string of cotton short with the end out of his mouth, hold it in his stomach for like a day, and then rip it out. I figure everything on 24 has to be true cause like... its so realistic... (Body count as of 7 hrs = 2349. Haha)
Well still looking for some stratagy/ clues as to my death. What about the idea of just eating that much thread. Is it the acctual fabric thats gonna be bad for me or the delicious chemicals that are in cotton? Damn I really dont want to lose
Thanks for the continued help,
Six

is the possibility of death really gonna cause you to lose an opportunity to rub something in your friends faces, as well as damaging your pride? there are few things worth dying for, but eating a cotton shirt to prove your friends wrong is without a doubt one of them

plus, people eat cotton candy all the time, so a cotton shirt must also be edible. PROOF
