Default AQ on the button against a limp/caller. Curious turn.

UTG is 45/12/2.2. He's thinking and tricky, and my initial notes on him said he was a maniac. He's settled down since though. My image is a little laggy, as I've been very active in LP and made a tough call two paired board (with the underfull) that was successful against a TAG.

What does he have? Do I find a turn fold?

(And yes I know I should have reraised the short stack PF)

Your overbet on the turn is poor as you are WA/WB. I understand protecting against a flush or straight draw, but you dont need to bet so much. Easy call of the c/r.

UTG is very loose; however he DID checkraise. That and the fact that the hand will be shown down either way conveys strength. I don't see Q8 or Q6 being played here. I do see KQ, QJ, QT being played here. Those three hands vs 88 or 66 is the only range that would conceivably get it up to $200 on the turn. If he's REALLY thinking, it's a fold. But this has to be read dependent. Goodluck...

I usually make it a 3bet vs guys like this. Bet a little less on the turn, like 80.

There is a good chance you are against a set but there is no way on this earth you can fold for the extra $90.2.

OK, he had 66 - but that gave you outs of an 8, Q or A for 6 outs as it was. You don't have to be ahead that often for this to be a call. It would be a terrible fold.

It would be more intesting if you bet $50 odd and saw the push. Even then it's probably a call.

3-betting this preflop should be standard for you, unless MP is very tight.
