This makes zero sense. Dutch Boyd hasn't opened a pokerroom. So exactly what are we being protected from?

And while I am sure GrannyMae has many wonderful qualities, teaching us to avoid being scammed isn't one of them. At least not in any other quality than as an example of what not to do.

Ms. Sunshine, my respect for your post.
I have been reading a lot about this issue in the last months and more in the current one, and with so many info in the net (including RDB Blog) sometimes it's difficult to make a clear conclussion about what really happened.
Definitely, your posts and reputation make a reference in order to make my own opinion about this subject.
I send you my respect, and my commitment with spreading this story in the spanish community.

It certainly hasn't been from lack for trying.

So basically we are being protected from a vague non-realized business plan?

I for one will sleep soundly knowing that.

Most people know not to lend TJ money. How did this come about??

Most people who are familiar with the pokerspot debacle know not to back/stake/listen/talk, or do business with Russ in any capacity. Keep the word out and possibly no one else will listen to his snake oil bull [censored] the next time he would like to start another business venture or be backed. In other words, we’re protecting his future suckers (investors), not his future customers… without financial backing, he won’t have any customers.

[ QUOTE ]
It is not difficult at all to collude/cheat.

It MAY be difficult to do it at a level where the benefits are greater than the risks in a live game.

[/ QUOTE ]

It is difficult to do it well enough so you cannot be caught, and it is difficult to do it to get a real advantage. Obviously things like chip dumping and best hand play are simple enough, but that is extremely easy to catch and just plain stupid to try.

[ QUOTE ]
You can rationalize until the cows come home, but I ain't buying it.

[/ QUOTE ]

The bottom line is that I spent a better part of a year busting colluders and enjoyed throwing them off the site, but I still don't believe in absolute morality. I don't let personal beliefs get involved with business.

You can all say that X is wrong and Y is reprehensible, but I prefer not to cast judgement, because we all have a lot of character flaws. He who shall throw the first stone, etc.

[/ QUOTE ]

You make a pretty good point and lest I be judged, I will not pass judgement on you. I will however pass judgement on your behavior and only for the sole purpose of convincing you to reevaluate the message you are sending. I have read many of your posts, found many of your tech advise both generous and useful, and believe that you probably have some level of respect from other posters. Your cavalier attitude toward cheating is not very well thought out. Cheating is a threat to the game. It is wrong, and I don't care how many posters here have done it, even...accidentally?!

This absolute morality stuff is fine if you have some 'end justifies the means' reason for colluding someone out of their quarters, but I can't imagine a scenario.

The morality of your actions should at the very least be crystal clear to you.

You busted out ZeeJustin and you did the same thing...possibly worse?!

For the record:
I have not, will not cheat. If your cards are visable I will tell you. I want to beat you out of your money. I am a poker player. If I wanted to steal your money, I would be _______. Judge yourself.

So at what point can we say future investors are properly protected? When MS Sunshine has written the 100th rant about Dutch Boyd on this forum? Or is the previous dozens enough protection? Personally I think it is silly to believe any business venture will not happen because of 2+2 posts.

I doubt very much these posts hurt Dutch Boyd all that much. He is at the WSOP. He is staked. He has a bracelet. He won't ever pay anyone from the Pokerspot time any money. The fixation on him probably does much more hurt to those fixated on him than it does to him.

i know you are a young punk, but i did not think you were void of the ability to recognize something intentional.

stupid AND a cheat. you will get yours one day, and i hope i'm there to see it.

[/ QUOTE ]

you never answered my question as to whether someone who has 0% ability to make the money in the wsop asking to get staked is stealing. imo, it is, since youre an absolute retard, you have >5% equity to make the money in a 10k tournament. id say it approaches 0. this being the case, were you stealing from your backers when you knew you were too stupid to cash but took their backing money anyways?

It's simply getting the word out there. Do you really not think people here play at the WSOP and other major events? Do you not think these people can spread the word around and thus start a domino effect of the opinion of Russ/Dutch’s character? Again, how many people lend TJ money? His reputation precedes him, and that's a good thing.

How many posts do we have to read about people waiting 2 days for their $200 cashout? And you think 5 years and $58K is no big deal?
