Well I need to brag a little and thank those who have helped me learn. I have been playing online for 18 months, but started to really try and learn 4 1/2 months ago. I bought PT started reading this board, read a few more books etc...
For the first 14 months I broke even in gambling but was up $1,500 because of bonuses etc... From Feb through mid June I had a BB/100 of 1.5. I fixed a few fatal flaws and have a BB/100 of almost 10 (which equates to over $4,500) since the middle of June. This is over 28,000 hands so it may be some what of a fluke, but I don't think so. I just feel so much more comfortable now. I play like most twoplustwoer's very aggressive and I think most players view me as a maniac post flop. I am always surprised how often they lay hands down and/or call pushes with only TPTK. I reread Doyle's book last week and I finally get what he was saying when he said that he wins lots of small pots with his aggressive style and yet gets lots of loose action on the big pots... I just bought NLHE Theory and Practice last week as well, but am having trouble reading it as I just want to play while I am on this rush, if that is what it is... Anyway 17 months virtually no profit from poker but $2,100 from bonuses and in the last month, $4,500 from gambling and $100 from bonuses. Moved from 50 to 100 to 200 tables in the last 4 weeks and holding my own at each of them. I have not posted much, but the few comments I have received on my questions have been very very useful. Thanks Pokey and Dbitel, specifically... I LOVE this game, lol... |

Bad weekend.
Down 7 buyins NL100. I know exactly what he has and make strong reasonable bluffs when flush scare cards hit, only to be called by the TPMK trash I knew he had. Sets win < 5 BBs. Get sucked out whenever all in with the best. Card dead. Tilt a little. Not a dam thing to post in the happy thread. Taking a much needed break for a week or so. |

Check this one out. Villain's got ridiculous tells so I know almost exactly what he has (his flop overbet = not a Q and his turn block = draw) [/ QUOTE ] Yes, but his draw HIT. You're not getting him to fold his straight on that river with your overbet. (Sure, you know he doesn't have a straight and I know he doesn't have a straight, but does HE? ) P.S.: I actually did the opposite of this once. I bluffed the flop and turn with nothing but a pair of nines, and my opponent called. On the turn, I decided to bluff it all and pushed. Villain called with a set of tens (OUCH). Then, the chips got pushed to me....it turns out that I didn't notice that I had gone runner-runner to a straight.... Embarassing. |
