Standard c/r because I have high equity or standard call because I'm OOP

I would bet out. That gives you the chance to take the pot right there, also it takes away the possibility of it getting checked through. I would also bet out on the turn if a blank hits (assuming no one raised on the flop). Your hand has a lot of outs to two pair or better, and its possible that you can pick up the pot right there. C/Raising out of position is not my favorite move. Your not folding top pair, but instead isolating yourself with top pair. Your hand isn't likely to hold up UI, so why not keep the other guy in for a potentially bigger payday if your spade or 3 or 8 hit?

What if there were 3, 4 or 5 people behind me instead of 2.

check/call the flop. Well played.

If Heads up bet, if 2/3 people behind check/call is best I think, the more players you add, the decision gets tougher, but betting is easier (than c/ring).
