[ QUOTE ]
Anyone who thinks Sabu is overrated either hasn't followed wrestling for very long or is only familiar with WWE/WCW. [/ QUOTE ] Yeah, way to generalize and tell me wht kind of fan I am. Christ. [ QUOTE ] Some of the matches he worked in ECW in the mid 90's and in Japan throughout the 90's are among the best I've seen. [/ QUOTE ] Exactly, 10 years ago. |

[ QUOTE ]
I'd be willing to bet that this has everything to do with him losing the belt last night. [/ QUOTE ] Originally they advertised that last night was going to be a Triple Threat Tag Team Match with RVD, Cena, and Edge each picking a partner of their choosing. THEN, tonight on ECW, it would be RVD vs. Edge for both belts. One would assume RVD would retain as the main event advertised for Saturday Night's Main Event next week was the three-way dance between them for the belt. This happened and ... the SNME match got bumped up to last night. What happens tonight on ECW will be, um, extremely telling. |

I can't see them giving Edge the ECW belt, I don't see how that wouldn't kill the "company". And aren't they in Philly?
Maybe (I doubt it) they could get away with it for a couple weeks, but who would get it after Edge if RVD is being punished? It needs to be on an old ECW guy and other than Sabu no one is even close to being able to carry it. |

Exactly, 10 years ago. [/ QUOTE ] I don't think anyone thinks Sabu is as good now as he was 5-10 years ago, although I assume that you didn't see the 3 way barbed wire match at Hardcore Homecoming which was one of his better matches. I don't see how he can be considered "overrated" (if you mean overrated currently as opposed to overrated for his whole career). Sabu isn't really over with the WWE fans and most ECW fans realize that he has declined due to the wear and tear on his body. As for the show tonight, ECW is pretty much screwed if McMahon decides to fire/suspend RVD and Sabu. The product is already weak, Angle is out for a month or so and there isn't anyone ready to take the title. Big Show wouldn't be a good champ (not over with old ECW fans and not sure how many wrestlers could work a good main event with him). Justin Credible could be an ok champ if they give him the same character he had in 2001. Other than that? Test? CW Anderson? |

bleh Credible is about as over as paint drying, sucks in the ring and has no charisma, although neither does RVD really.

Credible can put on good matches with the right opponents, he's worked some great ones with Steve Corino and Jerry Lynn and some pretty decent ones with Franchise and RVD. But yeah he's basically been relegated to being a jobber since he joined WWE and would need a huge heel push to get over. I disagree about the charisma as well, he's certainly not the Rock or Steve Austin (or whoever) but he's probably got the most charisma of all the "extremists" if he was given a chance.

And RVD jobs two belts in two nights. I dunno what they're gonna do, probably a suspension for both. They did show a Sabu highlight video during tonight's show.
