Middle pair against UTG raiser (2/4)

I'm not crazy about defending my big blind, but I felt like it was very warranted to splash around with the UTG raiser here.

Now the question- did I play this flop badly? Nothing is known about opponent. (Sorry guys, welcome to life at 2/4...not too many people you have any information on.)

UTG raises, 8 folds, Hero calls.

Flop: (4.50 SB) T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero checks, UTG bets, Hero raises, UTG 3-bets, Hero folds.

Final Pot: 4.75 BB

Fold preflop. This not the kind of hand you want to play against an UTG raiser. If several players cold called then I would consider playing.

Why did you feel "it was warranted to splash around with the UTG raiser" You said you had no reads on him.

I fold preflop. This is probably an example where I would check-call the flop, and then bet/fold a blank turn, or check fold a broadway turn.

I really don't like the PF call but if I was in this situation on the flop I like your play of check-call,bet-fold.
Depending on the opponent I might Bet-Fold, Check-Fold here. The only reasonable hands your beating are AQ,AJ, and possibly 99,88

I fold this PF. I think C/R the flop is trouble. Your hand isn't nearly strong enough to do this, and seeing as how he has position on you, he will make your life hell with better holdings, and fold a blank turn when you're indeed ahead.

I like a modified WA/WB here. I c/c, and B/F the turn. You're not way ahead here if you are ahead: you're just ahead a little bit, and I wouldn't go to the river before I pull the trigger. However, I think the same concepts apply here, and being OOP here really sucks.

Considering you are getting 9.5:1 on the flop, I make the call, even though he bitch-slapped your C/R. Anyone agree?

I agree he has odds to call the 3-bet on the flop.

You're not really defending your blind against a UTG raiser as he's clearly not on the steal. Unless you know this guy is LAG, I'd fold this in the BB. T9 suited is a nice hand in that spot with plenty of callers, but not great HU (even if you are half-way in) especially against an UTG raise, which should mean (unless the guy's an idiot) a better raising hand than average.

I do like the cr on the flop, though, but I think you're right to fold to a re-raise. Even if you've got as many as five outs, you've only just got the odds to justify calling and, chances are (unless the guy's a tricky player), you're badly beaten.
