This show really is great! I just wish it was in high-definition.

Does anybody know if the players get any kind of appearance fee to be on the show? I can't see them doing it for nothing.

Mr. Negreanu wrote this in his blog:

The players were also paid an hourly rate to be part of the show that ended up being about $1250 per hour.

They are putting 24 hours of play into 13 episodes. So tonight was just the first 1/13th of play, or about two hours -- which is about the first quarter of the first day. In Daniel's blog, he says he started off well on the first day. So the bad beats will probably start to come in the latter part of the day, on episodes 3 and 4.

Gotcha. How many episodes total?

It was pretty much ABC poker, atleast this episode. Looked a bit tight aside from Dan trying to force some action.

Default Disappointing so far

I was expecting a lot more analysis- the set/set hand on the wheel board for one thing was crying out for a discussion.

I hope it gets better, or I'm downgrading Kaplan as a poker announcer.

Who is the other mouth?

So far I'm a bit disappointed. Interesting to see some of the early play- did DN really push over a $9K pot with $1 million?- but the show could use more work.

[i]edit- quote of the show so far was Kaplan's comment after the Stacked promo tournament "Daniel, it's nice when you're sucking out on 12 year olds"

Only he and Daniel bought in for more than 100K, and Daniel already folded so he was really pushing 100K. Probably still a little excessive.

I think Doyle was making a statement with AK. Daniel was running over the game, and getting a lot of action, so he wanted to let the others know "I'm here too, ya know". He was pretty sure he had the best hand, and wasn't going to get called.

Que?

Yeah, this was like Live at the Bike with an upgrade. Very enjoyable first week. Looking forward to the next.

I agree totally. I was waiting for discussion of why Nasseri should push (or not, though I don't know what the argument would be for that).
