I had to call BS myself. It probably has a basis on some events but is definately exaggerated. Though I do enjoy it and would like to read the rest.

On the other hand, his grammatical structure and vocabulary sound like a college student who just got done writing a big term paper. It has all of the elements of someone actively using the thesarus and attempting to "use the biggest word possible" and impress everyone with their amazing grasp of grammer and the english language. This is the major reason I call it BS.

Godot -
You sound like a person who has his feet securely grounded. Despite what other posters tell you, I feel that you are very much in control of your life. You seem like someone who is well-rounded and confident in expressing yourself. You are awesome, Godot.
I hope you stick around and contribute often to 2+2.

Two things:
1) who cares if it's real or not, it's a good read.
2) don't be so damned insecure that you have to accuse him of sexing up the language.

Even after they saw "Rounders" a few dozen times? I had a lot of visions of that Michael Keaton movie "Clean and Sober" flashing through my head as well.

It may only sound contrived because it's not so uncommon that we haven't heard other similar stories. This is the internet, so if it's true or BS, my hats off to Godot for getting it down.

I'm not judging him or his experiences. I think the thing that keeps me from falling into a pit of addiction is how trite it would feel...

What does it matter if the story is true or not?

A well-written piece of fiction posing as fact is not very damaging to anyone that believes it, especially if it is on a goofy internet forum like 2+2. Just take it as a well-written(for this site) cautionary tale and enjoy it.

Godot-

Speaking from first hand knowledge a long rambling post, therapist, or more gambling won't fix your problems.

God is the only one who can change yor heart. He can provide you peace where you thought there could be none.
If you truly seek Him with all your heart He will reveal Himself to you.

There flame on I'm getting pretty good at defending my faith both scientificaly, and theologically.

Good Luck,
Jeff

Why do you consider someone offering words of spiritual guidance a "vulture"?
