WPEX response to my email:

Hi Jason,

We do understand your concern in regards to this matter,
We are fully aware of the issue, there will be a program upgrade next week that will correct this matter. We are keeping an eye out for customers who are abusing this, if you know of any players who are taking advantage of this problem you can submit their names. Any player who is caught abusing this will be dealt with accordingly.

Also we will credit the $2 to the other player, but we will not be deducting anything out of your account.

We do appreciate you as a customer, If you have any further inquiries please feel free to contact us.

Best Regards,
Sheldine
WPEX Support

I'm still not planning on playing there until this is sorted out, but if anyone (OP?) has names of players who have been abusing this make sure to report them.

J

this is why I refuse to play WPEX. I wish they would just do 80 percent rakeback and keep the rest for security/customer service/software development etc.....

I don't feel safe at a site that is totally free, simply because I get the feeling they would not be keeping up on their security. That really sucks about the bug

Lol, at wsex response

That's like a store-owner calling a locksmith and being like 'hi, my door lock is broken can you fix it' and the locksmith responding, 'no, but I will keep an eye out for someone breaking into your store'. Thanks.

Thanks for this post. I really must have my head up my ass not to have noticed this glitch. No wonder I've been hemorraging money the last couple of days.

what does someone skipping the blinds have to do with you losing.......absolutely nothing.

You suck at poker.

Wow.

I assume the wow was directed at his comment and not mine, as based on his comment, he clearly does suck at poker (or cheats and is justifying it), one or the other.

I hope you don't get a refund, what does someone skipping the blinds have to do with you losing.......absolutely nothing. Give me a break.

Although I'm not convinced the OP should get his money back, to say that other players not posting blinds while he is posting them has nothing to to with him losing displays a level of ignorance that is truly mind boggling. Player A posts blinds every round, while player B skips blinds an only plays premium hands. Can you really not see that this gives player B a significant advantage?

well it turns out that the players not posting blinds were taking rakeback from everyone else. WPex has always stated RB is contributive, but several posters have gone on to say it is not. So whatever RB those players got deserves to be given back to the players they cheated.

I just saw the move in a 5/10 game. I contacted support with the hand number. They say they'll deal with the player and that next Wednesday they have an upgrade to close the loophole.

I have no idea what this means or if there'll be any truly punitive actions taken, but we can hold out hope.

I'll leave the screen name out for now so he/she doesn't close the account.

It is someone I've seen on there as a regular player.

Anyone who doesn't think this would be a massive advantage for the cheater either doesn't understand the game or has spurious motives for holding such an opinion.

Thanks to the OP for bringing this to light. Frankly, I was skeptical. Not anymore. I'm very grateful to know about this. I was getting killed all of a sudden. It may not have been all my fault.

I'd love to know how much this actually cost me - something always seemed wrong about that site to me and I couldn't figure out why I was losing (some suckouts but still). Is this bug recent or since the beginning? I know MANY people who win at other sites that are losing or barely winning at WPEX despite no rake.

I'll gladly pay rake to protect myself from blatant cheating enabled by a horrible software glitch.

Jeff
