You should ask then for more information, such as what their restructuring plan is and a copy of their latest audited financial statements. And if it's 10k we're talking about, it might be worth at least a preliminary chat with a lawyer, if you know one.

Ultimately, my advice is: don't take a passive stance on this - it's your money, they owe you, and you have the right to take action to get them to pay you.
