Default Re: Presenting... better know a pogger

OK my turn I guess.

34 years old from long island. Mets and Dolphins fan. Starting watching football when Marino came up and have been a dolphins fan living in NY for as long as i remember watching football. Love comedy movies and telling jokes. My Name is Earl is the only current comedy TV show I watch, and Seinfeld, Curb Your Enthusiasm, and Cheers are probably my favorite shows ever. Kevin Smith is definitely my favorite Producer/Director and Clerks, Chasing Amy. and Dogma are all in my top 10 favorite movies of all time.

Had a horrible year. My longterm girlfriend went into a coma last august and passed away last november. We were together for 7 1/2 years and had lived together for 5. Probably didnt get married because she had been sick for a while, but had a liver transplant in 2003 which seemed to make her better, although the antirejection drugs are what probably were her demise. Her disease is called familial amyloidosis, and she was the only person to ever get a liver transplant for her specific mutation. It seemed to have helped her, as her nerve damage was slowly getting better. It appears her disease had little to do with her coma though, although amyloid around her heart made her recovery much less likely. She somehow got encyphilitis of the brain, which cause her to begin a seizure that it took them almost 20 hours to stop, and then never woke up from that.

Have been a retail manager for many years and finally decided to become a math teacher and started going back to school part time 2 years ago for my masters in math education. Hope to be done by the end of this year. Just lost my job (laid off) about a month ago and not sure what type of job i am looking for in the interm. Retail management plus grad school is a lethal combo so am collecting unemployment, playing some poker, and still deciding what to do. I have a bachelor's degree in Philosophy -- hence the job in retail Was great in Math in High School until I took Calculus and then had little interest in college math because i did not enjoy calculus at the time. Decided I wanted to be a lawyer, and one of my philosophy teachers convinced me that law schools love taking students with a philosophy degree (this is actually true.) When I graduated College in 1993, I was offered a good promotion to management (i was a supervisor at a time) and I figured - hey this money is great --- I will take a year off of school before deciding on going to law school or grad school. Eleven years later I finally did!

So it has been one hell of a year. I have a ton of support though, with a great family and some incredible friends that were there for me throughout the three months and the time since.

Play low stakes no limit online and do okay but not enough to make a living. When I go to AC, I do pretty well at the 1/2 NL tables though.

Love this site, especially POG.
