Default Stolen car found with id of thief...what should I do?

My roommates car was recovered by the police today when they saw it covered in dust in the Venetian and randomly ran a license plate check. My roommate went down there and the police found an ID on a keychain. When he came back, we found a bunch of other stuff. The person was an asian girl who goes to high school in Long Beach...her class schedule was in the car.

My Ipod and $200 headphones were obviously not in the car though. I only found out about the car being stolen after the police were notified, so I'm not sure if it was ever put on the police report. The police have her id; I'm not sure if they're going to track her down, but is there any chance I'll recover my Ipod or get reimbursed for it?

Only if your friend goes through insurance for it, which he could...but his deductible is likely more then the stuff is worth, and it could affect his renewal rates if he makes a claim....so no.

Why do you think the ID belongs to the thief? It seems much more likely the ID got stolen, too, and the thief left it in the car by purpose.
