I generally play on Party, stakes from 200 to 600 NL depending on the time of day and where the games are good.

Posting UTG might mean the unknown player is impatient/donkish and so forth. Or it might mean they just read a thread on a poker forum saying that such posters are generally massive donks.

FWIW I've occasionally sat down, posted straight away then been dealt AA, KK or AK for example - you can imagine the carnage. Obviously as I choose to play on Party I think there are plenty of poor players to go around, I just don't peg someone as a fish without seeing a bit more substantial evidence.

Holy freaking crap.

Can we just lock this piece of **** thread? And seriously, if some newbie is going to start right off talking [censored] to Big_Jim and some of the other regulars...um, ban?

I mean wtf, you're seriously going to fold to a guy who POSTED utg with TPQK? He probably has f'ing JQ. Easiest call EVER with no read that he's a total nit.

>>> Agreed... Is somebody gonna have to take every possible hand combination for villain and determine the EV of it to conclusively say whats right, or are we just going to have to know the answer already and let it be? <<<

Instead of taking every hand combination, why not just do it using logic specific to this scenario. Feel free to dispute any of the assumptions I make, these are as follows:

1. Against an unknown, it is +EV to assume by default they are a donkey, especially when they buy in short and post UTG.

2. Donkeys (by definition) have no idea how to bet their hands or when to raise .

3. Donkeys don't know when to bluff or when not to bluff or when their hand is good or not.

4. Given that most unknowns are at least bad, TP2K is a solid hand against a range of god knows what would play a hand this way .

FYP to be sensible. I wouldn't want to pay a mortgage assuming that unknowns on Party Poker are good. Ha ha ha.
