Last time I was at the Isle I they had a 5/5NL game and a 3/6/12 Limit game and that was it. I just played NL and it was full of locals who are retired and have been playing with each other for 40 years. Really tight textbook play should keep you afloat. Have fun watching huge swings as many players are all in on the turn. Also, don't expect eye candy from the waitresses as they are all hideous.

I played at both in March, and I really liked the Coushatta more than the Isle. The Isle poker room is on the 3rd floor of the boat, and it just seemed really stuffy in there. Add in the fact that almost everyone smokes while at the table and it was overbearing at times.

The Coushatta played looser to me, and I played there at 2 PM Saturday and the Isle I played all night long. If i could do it over again, which I probably will in October, I'd stay at that Best Western (I think) that's right by the Coushatta in Kinder and not even bother with going into Lake Charles.

(The only NL I played was 5/5, I think that's all they had.)

Good points. Of course you could always drive the extra 1 1/2 hours to Charenton and play the WORST 5/5 NL players of all time at Cypress Bayou Casino.

Coushatta has a 5/5 NL and a 3/6/12 game and VERY rarely a 10/20 game that takes forever to get together and breaks within 2 hours

Steamboat Bill's for seafood/cajun.

Go over the bridge from the Isle, 1st exit Eastlake (??) and U-turn. It'll be on that road before you get back to the bridge.
