I'd say I have good but not excellent taste. Some of my favorites:

The Princess Bride, Monty Python & the Holy Grail, There's Something About Mary, Seven Samurai, Fargo, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Lost in Translation, Do the Right Thing, Memento, Dr. Strangelove, Magnolia, This is Spinal Tap, Kill Bill, etc.

(EDIT: Forgot Shawshank. I can watch it over and over.

And Bloodsport.)

I like some old, foreign and obscure stuff, but I haven't really seen a ton of it. I voted myself an 8: better taste than the average person but not as good as the film buffs around here.

I gave myself a 9. I'm arrogant enough to make it so that I'm in a very top percentage, but not the highest percentage

I'm actually a pretty easy audience, I won't really hate something unless it's truly bad and I won't love it unless it does something for me. I can appreciate a good artsy fartsy film and I can recognize most cinematic flaws, but I put more emphasis on whether a movie connects with me personally and keeps me interested/entertained than on it's qualities as a film.

My 3 favorite movies of the past five years are Sin City, Troy, and Big Fish. All time I'd go with American Beauty, Shawshank, and the Last of the Mohicans.

I'd say that everyone's taste is perfect for them, but my best friend has seen Steel 5 times and Garfield 4, by choice, so I can't really be completely pluralist about this.

So far there are two respondents that I would give scores of ten; DieBitter and WillMagic. If anyone else is curious what my opinion of their movie taste is I will offer my services starting now.

I gave myself an 8.

My favorite movies are Lawrence of Arabia, The Godfather, The Shawshank Redemption, and Schindler's List. How do I rank?

An 8 means you liked "Kazaam." A 10 means you loved it.

I gave my taste in movies a 10. Why would a care what other people think of movies when I am rating the ones I like the most?
