Thanks for clarifying. You're a class A douche, dustybottoms!

Swede

Coming from an OOT insider, that REALLY hurts man.

[/ QUOTE ]

Pretty much anyone who's ever driven on an interstate will agree with him on this one. You sound like you're a menace to yourself and to others. I hope it turns out badly for you.

[/ QUOTE ]

So to review: I'm called an ass, a douche, and have had bad fortune wished upon me because I've tried to argue a point logically. As I said before, I consider the bigger menace the hotdogs who insist on doing 80-85 when they're not rushing somebody to the hospital.

Question: If I'm doing 130, and someone approaches from behind doing 140, do I still have to move according to you guys? Where do you guys draw the line, if anywhere?

That's what you consider the bigger menace. Most of us disagree. You are endangering more people by trying to regulate how fast others are driving by refusing to move over, even though slower traffic should move to the right.

The fact is, if you are driving between 5-10 mph above the speed limit, on nearly any interstate you are travelling below the rate of traffic. And yes, if you are travelling 130 mph in the left lane, and if someone approaches travlling 140 mph, you should move over.

Dusty,

If you feel the need to regulate how fast people drive on the highway, I'm sure your local police department is hiring.

Even if any significant movement of the wheel at that speed is exponentially more dangerous? We're not driving Formula One cars out there.

BTW, you disagree with me, fine. But what exactly does wishing something bad on me, about whom you know virtually nothing, say about you?

I would imagine that you couldn't quantify the difference in danger, so you're essentially talking out of your ass to try to salvage an argument that's pathetic in the first place. The fact is, you're a douchebag who likes to drive 5 mph over the speed limit in the left lane. You won't move over when people who are driving faster approach. By doing this, you're endangering eveyone on the road in your feeble attempt at playing "traffic cop". You then justify this retarded behavior by asking if the situation is different at 140 mph, and it isn't---slower traffic move right. Read that again: Slower traffic move right.

It says I'm an [censored]. Duly noted, and I completely agree. At least I'm not some moron driving 67mph in a 65mph zone in the left lane while people speed around me on the right.

Wow. I opened the thread to reply "when people use your in place of you're."

[/ QUOTE ]

If you're talking about the use of "your" in the OP's title, I guess that's why you're saying wow? Like, "Wow, I almost made an ass of myself with my reply"?. Or is it "Wow, the OP sure must be stupid to not know that the title should read "What's you're pet peeve?". But yeah, people who use to and too interchangably bug the [censored] out of me, so I guess i can relate.

[/ QUOTE ]

Maybe it's "wow, the OP used your in the first sentence of his post when the correct word is you're."

[/ QUOTE ]

Alrighty then. I can relate. Another one that bugs me is people who mean "loser", but spell it "looser".

Default Re: Whats Your Pet Peeve?

while driving on a two-lane interstate highway:

i'm cruisin' along in the left lane passing by slower moving cars on the right as it was meant to be. if somebody comes up in my rearview that wants to go even faster (not likely, but possible) then i'm happy to move over and let him pass. all of a sudden, a semi-truck in the right lane (where he belongs) decides he wants to pass the semi in front of him so he can go half a mile/hour faster. instead of waiting for me to pass by, the semi cuts right in front of me, forcing me to greatly reduce my speed for the 10-20 seconds it takes for the truck to pass.

edit: happy to see all the other frustrated motorists in previous posts sharing my pain in various ways.

People that ride their bikes on the road when there is a big sidewalk available to them.
