Default Best way to earn casino comps (poker doesnt count)

I need casino comps because they give out some VERY good stuff for very little comps.

I was thinking cardcounting BJ (but I suck at it)

Craps (i dont know about it), betting on pass is correct?

Please teach me some optimal strategy so I lose minimum EV while wagering maximum amount of $ while minimizing variance

thanks, i luv u all

I always understood that casinos give-out comp value at 1/3 your expected loss. So there's no way to "minimize EV loss" if you're playing up&up. Now, maybe you can bet big when the pitboss is watching and bet small otherwise, but I was under the impression that casinos are pretty good at guaging how you play.

Note: another way to profit is to be comped things which have a higher value to you than cost to the casino. e.g. A free room on a Wed night doesn't have much marginal cost for the casino, but does have value to you.

video poker is probably the best bang for the comp buck.

otherwise, just flat bet blackjack or the craps passline.

I thought of another point: If the casino thinks you're playing poorly when you're really playing well, that can make them miscalculate, too. For instance, if you're playing -0.5% Blackjack as if you're a -5% Blackjack player, maybe you can profit via comps.

I bet the B&M forum has some threads on this, too. It's sorta what the forum's for.

I dont think they watch how you play BJ and determine what to comp you. A a $100/hand player is the same if you hit on 18 or not in terms of comps. They just know how much they make for ever $100 bet overall and go by that. Im pretty sure about that but not %100.

It is judged based on the amounts bet, not how you play. Unless you vary your bets dramatically, then they might keep an eye on you. Even though BJ is a good game to play, it is normally played very quickly. Sometimes a "slow table" can help you maximize comps while risking less money. Pai Gow is a decent game for comps if yu know how to play well. Bacarrat is fun with a full table, but it involves no strategy(dont tell the asians I said that). Video Poker has small edge with perfect play, but you better be spending mad cash in em to get anything better then free food.

u could always try Keno...GL

[/ QUOTE ]Can't you ask the dealer to play your hand the house-way? And that's within a fraction of a percent of optimal? Seems it's easy to "play well".

Now that I think about it, it'd slow the game down to ask the dealer for help every hand. It's not a fast game already, but this would slow it down even more.

Yea the dealer can do it for you. Anyone whos played poker will learn quick. Unlike most other table games, with pai gow you can win big on one hand. Ive seen a lady win 12k from a table min bet. Every house if different so get the low down before u sit down

you're talking about the "fortune" side bet here, not the regular pai gow poker game. that side bet carries an additional house edge of 5-9% which negates any advantage of comp hustling (might as well play slots).

the slow pace and frequent ties in pai gow poker generally earns half the comp rate as other flat-bet table games.

you do not need to spend "mad cash" for VP comps. grinding at a 25c JoB machine at 1000 hands/hour is close to the same amount of gross action generated by a $25/hand blackjack player. and it's almost certain that the VP player will generate better comps with a lower bankroll requirement, and get better bounceback offers in the mail.
