Jay McKee and Mike Grier are an unrestricted free agents, and a vast majority of the team are restricted free agents. Buffalo has to decide whether they want to deal players like Kotalik, Dumont, or Afinogenov, or keep them - I can't imagine keeping all three of those guys around.

Go Roli. Do on the ice what you couldn't do sitting on the bench in 99.
Thank you Sabres. |

A few observations:
1.) Congratulations to Carolina. They defeated 80% of the Buffalo Sabres. If the Sabres stay injury-free, this result is different. If we took this series to the limit playing with the Rochester defense corps, imagine what we do with a healthy Numminen, Tallinder, Kalinin, McKee (for Game 7) and Connolly. It is amazing what Buffalo was able to accomplish in this series despite being absolutely annihilated by injuries. Some people might think that I'm using this rush of injuries as an excuse. My answer: you bet your ass I am. A full-strength Sabres team wins this series and probably the Stanley Cup. Damn, this is frustrating. 2.) I'll thank you to never mention the names "Rory Fitzpatrick" or "Jeff Jillson" to me, ever again. What horrible performances. Speaking of horrible clutch performances, I wouldn't mind seeing Afinogenov getting cut loose after watching his Michelle Kwan impression for the last 7 games, at a time when the team needed his (potential) firepower the most due to the AHL defensemen. The first good shot he took at the goal all series was with 5 seconds left in Game 7. Thanks, Max. See if you can land a triple axel for us next time you go out for an evening skate. 3.) I agree with MrFeelNothin - Let's go Edmonton. If we can't have the Cup, I'd at least like to see it go back to Canada...it belongs there a hell of a lot more than North Carolina with their fair-weather fans. --Scott |

I think the market value on a majority of the team has gone up 50%. Miller double to triple.

NO WAY THE CANES BEAT US IF WE ARE HEALTHY AND ANYONE WHO SAYS OTHERWISE IS A [censored] DOUCHE... [/ QUOTE ] Pretty sad that they needed the 3rd period of the 7th game really. Series would've been over in 5 games if they had those injuries. |

Afino can go back to Moscow for all I care, though he finally played halfway decent tonight. |
