Mauer or Posada (even a half dozen others) are much much better so far, but the All-Star voting has hasn't entirely been based on numbers.

I know but how could he be leading when he's having such a piss poor year? I guess the "RSN" are voting madly.

There are about 10mm Red Sox fans in the USA that didn't know what baseball was 3 years ago, so this is not surprising.

Have Red Sox fans managed to surpass Yankees fans in over all level of annoyingness and blind faith in their players? Certainly seems possible.
