If you play .5and$1 poker you have plenty of time on yoru hands, so do this little exercise. Deal yourself 10 hands (ie 10 old men seeing a flop and calling down), and then flop turn and river, and see how often one pair wins. YOU NEED A BIG HAND TO WIN A BIG POT. One pair is NOT a big hand

The pots are huge! At these tables, there will normally be 7 players that see the flop! 3 that call until showdown!

[/ QUOTE ]

If this is true, just fold everything preflop but AA, KK, and maybe AK and QQ. Never fold postflop and say "nice hand" a lot. You'll win money.

You say that your have read Small Stakes Holdem and you understand everything in it. It is pretty clear from your post that you don't. Read it again.

agreed.

just the statement that his string of beats over 12 freaking hours (probably at 20-25 hands an hour) is awful (much less all the other stuff). I'm guessing this 12 hour stretch of live play got 300 or fewer hands.
If you can't figure out that it most certainly is NOT statistically impossible to lose with premium hands over this incredibly small sample then I really don't know what to tell you.

You've had some success at math and that is tainting your impression of your abilities and feeding your ego. You are just not very good at poker and need to accept that and go from there.

as others have stated, you don't understand poker, variance or statistics nearly as well as you think you do.

I would recommend reading and studying the stuff in the micro-limits forum (if you intend to keep playing and trying to improve) and perhaps some of the discussions in the BBV forum.

You have read SSHE but you need some other discussion in order to reinforce your understanding perhaps...because it's obvious that you just aren't getting some stuff.

Also, at these types of tables AA-QQ go down in value and suited connectors and smaller pairs (for set value) go up.

[/ QUOTE ]

you are [censored] retarded. AA is the best hand, PERIOD. I don't care if it's HU or vs 9 players.

Give me any hand vs 9 others and I'll take AA every single time.

Just because the number of times AA loses vs 9 people doesn't mean it loses value.
