No, you're mixing it with ginger ale for Christ's sake!
It does not need to be an expensive cognac.

People in this forums are crazy brand whores with some of their mixed drinks (I mean drinks with a lot of mixer/ soft drinks in them - not classic cocktails).

Macallan 12 year single malt scotch. Neat.
It won't break the bank (~ 60$) and it's a really good scotch for the money.

Also Bombay Saphirre and Tonic, with lime, on the rocks.
This drink is great for a warm summer day.
