so far so good. i really like some of the suggestions you guys have given.
anything else? a couple others I liked... bright eyes, lover I don't have to love fort minor, remember the name aerosmith, amazing bon jovi, always prince, purple rain bush, glycerine bubba sparxx, deliverance the used, lunacy fringe (though I don't know what to call that type of string) thanks again. I really appreciate it. It's tough to find a music when you are looking for an instrument not a type or an artist. and come to think of it... anything close to a violin would be great too... cello, viola, maybe even any orchestra type |

ants marching [/ QUOTE ] Are the opening notes made by a fiddle/harmonica combo? I couldn't place the instrument(s), although the above is the opinion which was offered by my former mother-in-law, who is a semi-professional musician. |

I have the album you're looking for -- R.E.M.'s "Automatic For the People." It's a pop/rock vocal album by an amazingly talented group where virtually every song has violins/cellos in it. The string arrangements were done by John Paul Jones from Led Zeppelin. The entire album has a beautifully slow, evocative feel -- for particular tracks, go for "Drive," "Nightswimming," and "Sweetness Follows" for the best violin sounds. All have great vocals as well. [/ QUOTE ] No [censored], I don't think I knew that. Or perhaps I did and forgot. Anyways, the man is talented. Check out his song "Snake Eyes" off his album Zooma. EDIT: I was referring to John Paul Jones, not REM. |
