[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] And Mason, I would be eternally grateful if you would email me or PM me and tell me why you thought my book "not very good". [/ QUOTE ] The fee for me to go through your book and explain all the errors in it to you would be very high, well into the five figures. But for someone who makes hundreds of thousands of dollars a year it should be something that you would want to do. Of course, these figures are just pocket change to me and I would probably assign this task, assuming you came up with the money, to someone like Ed Miller, but you would still learn a lot. Otherwise, you'll have to wait for my review of your book which will probably appear in our July magazine. It's already written and you got a 4 on my 1-to-10 scale. Also, keep in mind that my reviews are known to be very accurate, and I have my reputation for producing accurate reviews to uphold. MM [/ QUOTE ] This comment makes me think much less of Mason. It seems to be directly in the style that everyone here is complaining that Maroon uses: proclaimin your wealth and disinterest in helping someone, all while belittling them with potshots on an interent forum. [/ QUOTE ] Do you have no sence of humor? Mason is a very funny guy. TT [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] |

Aren't you playing 30-60 through 80-160 live? If such figures are pocket change to you, then shouldn't you be playing much bigger games? If you can't beat those bigger games, then maybe you aren't as good at the game as you think and Matros should disregard your criticism, considering 80/160 live is probably about 30/60 online. Don't be so condescending. |

[ QUOTE ]
The reason for my shot is in the world of poker/Internet, I, and Two Plus Two Publishing LLC, have been attacked more than anyone else by far. It's often done by people I either don't know or hardly know, and this is my results of trying to understand why. [/ QUOTE ] Mason, you really shouldn't be surprised at these attacks. It's the tall poppy syndrome. Anybody who excels in any field is going to get this to some degree, simply by virtue of being the most visible, and therefore the one to beat. A bit like the Cincinatti Kid vs. The Man, for example. Of course, not all of these challengers will have the grace and style of Steve McQueen, but that's not going to stop them from taking a pop. And while I've got no idea how wearing having to deal with attacks of that frequency must be, I suspect that responding in an equivalent manner isn't the best way of dealing with it -- primarily because it makes you look less like The Man, and more like a contest of equals. If I were in your shoes, I like to think I'd respond to such attacks in much the same way as an amused parent does with a small child. As long as their ineffectual thrashing about isn't doing any real damage, I'd smile benignly, and try to offer them good advice on upping their game. Though I recognize that every now and then, they'd catch me at an off-moment, and at that point I might just snatch them up and deliver a severe spanking... |

It would be pretty foolish to pay $10k or more for something that will be free in a month. How do I subscribe to this magazine?

Talking about 2p2ers in terms of registered users is kinda silly. If I'm talking about the 2p2 player base, I'm thinking basically about strat posters who've got 1000+ posts. There's a lot of people here who basically never post strat, and exist only for the non-poker forums.
