I think you missed them on the flop and on the turn. If there's an 80/20/1 at the table, you have to bet and raise to give him the opportunity to raise and call, not to mention all the other donks who seem to be donking along. If you only used the bet/raise button for this entire hand, you'd probably end up making at least as much.

[/ QUOTE ]

It's ok, he tilted so bad he kept trying to isolate my top 20% hands with his 25%-50% hands. I was really hoping the flush would hit someone.

Like I told the table coach, I so rarely see 4 of a kind, I honestly don't know how to play it.

Both the players in the hand had been super passive around raises. So I just let them pay me to the river.

Non-content question. Please someone answer, so I don't have to make a separate thread for it

I checked my pokertracker stats, and found I have only won with a flush 12 times in about 2800 hands. Does this seem overly low? Considering that I see people win with flushes about once every 10 hands, this seems odd.

[/ QUOTE ]

Over the last few months, I'm averaging a winning flush about once very 130 hands. So, yeah...your numbers seem a little off, although you're working with a very small sample size.

Also, keep in mind that donks love to play any 2 suited from any position, for any amount of money. While that's a terrible play EV-wise, it does help to ensure that they hit a lot of flushes. At least for my stats, I've folded many more flushes preflop than I've shown down.

Bragging. The 80/20/1 table coach says I missed a lot of bets. Where do you recon I missed them?

Party Poker 1.00/2.00 Hold'em (9 handed) link

Preflop: Hero is SB with 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].

Hero checks, BB checks, MP2 bets, MP3 calls, Hero calls, BB folds.

Turn: (3.50 BB) 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 players)
Hero checks, MP2 checks, MP3 bets, Hero calls, MP2 calls.

Hero checks, MP2 checks, MP3 bets, Hero raises, MP2 calls, MP3 folds.

Final Pot: 11.50 BB.

[/ QUOTE ]

You waited until the river to finally squeeze one extra big bet out of one of your opponents. This is very meek play. Slow playing the flop, I can see, but slow playing the turn is -EV.

[/ QUOTE ]

With a 2-suited flop, fastplaying your quads is the best way I can think of to disguise your hand. If you had a K you'd raise, if you had a pocket pair other than sevens you'd probably raise, and if your opponents had two diamonds most of them would raise in your spot (I love seeing that play--isolating on the made hand with their flush draw).

And good god...with the amount of scare cards on this board, you've gotta give the LAG a chance to bluff at you.

*Raises his Donk hand*

I just happened to have my Aug stats for Party up and thought I would share them. In 4200 hands I've won with flushes 66 times. Therefore, I am the FlushKing.

I find it interesting that of all the hands I've played I would have ended up with a flush 127 times. Out of those 127 possibilities I've seen the flop 75 times and won 66 times.

66 out of 127 possibles seems really high to me. I guess that's what happens when you play too many hands. The large majority of them have been 6 max though so maybe you can cut me a little slack for that.

Sorry to reply to myself but I thought of something else that was interesting to me. A while back I had checked to see how many of my won flushes were back door and the number surprised me.

I just checked this months stats and out of the 66 won flushes 27 of them were back door. That's some food for thought for the BD haters. Funny thing, as I was counting the BD flushes I was playing one table on Party and got another BD flush.

Default Take it down with K high.

Loved this one, no way I could put 75/23/1 villain on any hand here. Not sure if I made a good read or was spewing chips.

Default 6 bet a KQJT board? You must have an ace.. right? RIGHT?

I wasn't in this, but watched open mouthed.

Will Hill $1/$2 lim.

UTG Raises, MP1 Re-raises, CO calls, UTG 3-bets, MP1 caps, CO calls, UTG calls.

Flop K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

UTG bets, MP1 raises, CO calls, UTG calls.

Turn Q [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

UTG bets, MP1 raises, CO calls, UTG 3-bets, MP1 caps, CO calls.

River 9 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

UTG bets, MP1 raises, CO calls (getting familiar now?)
UTG 3-bets, MP1 raises, CO calls, UTG dances up and down with a sign above his head saying I have an ace, I have an ace, and 5-bets, MP1 6bets, CO calls. UTG 7 bets, MP1 fnally hears him calls, co calls.

UTG shows AA. Other two muck .

How bad do you have to be to 6-bet a KQJT9 board, without broadway? Why is my buddy list broke?

Here's the old double-reverse-runner-runner, where both villains back into hands they weren't drawing to on the flop (to beat me).

BB checks, Hero bets, MP calls, CO folds, Button calls, BB calls.

Turn: (7.25 BB) 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (4 players)
