Hand 1 looks like a very tough fold, but a fold nonetheless.
Hand 2 I think I like your play and fold the river.
Hand 3 I call.
Hand 4 I'd bet 800, folding to an all-in most likely.
Hand 5 I push.
Hand 6 I push.
Hand 7 I call and look to get it in on the river.
Hand 8 I'm not sure about.

jesus. do u think its possible he has a 9 and figures u are chopping it up... he pushes when the board pairs supersystem style to try and get u off half?

That's what I was thinking to justify a call. Looking back on it, I kind of doubt he would raise the river with a lone nine on a paired board. I was thinking he could have had a set here but I also thought he could have had an overpair, 2 pair on the turn, a nine, or some type of pair + draw. I was playing a lot of tables and lost focus for a second but hated the bet I made. I am thinking now I should have bet less with four cards to a str8 out to get calls from weaker hands and leave myslef room to fold comfortably to a raise if I thought I was beat, as long as I make the same bet with a full house enough of the time. AS I played it I did lay myself a great price but I also showed a ton of strength and he still pushed all in - Since he just called the turn then pushed the river this seems consistent with a full house. A nine seems a lot more likely to raise the turn instead of the river if he thought the nine was a great card. I guess it's possible he could have been doing the super / system style play to get me off a nine but seems pretty unlikely. Also, maybe checking the river would not be so bad the way the hand played out not sure. I'm still a little unclear on this one but it seems like if I can fold to his raise comfortably after making a river bet, then a bet seems good still not sure how much to bet. Most of the pots were not going to showdown + he seemed like he was playing pretty solid at the time.

On Hand 1 if I lead and get raised I am definitely going to make a good sized reraise. Why did u choose to just call, that seems very non-standard.

[/ QUOTE ]

Effective Stack sizes are 160BB.

I chose to call because my read at the time was that a raise would probably only get called a vast majority of the time by this player if I was behind.

Yea, the 160 BB stacks makes a flop 3-bet a tough spot to put yourself in. I agree...Maybe this is a good spot for a check-raise in that case?

1. I have discussed in other parts ofthread, interesting hand. Dont like lead/call on flop, very counterintuitive.

2.Seems like he might be valuebetting KK/QQ? Weird hand, fold seems right but I have surely called it before.

3. Call obv

4. Check and I guess call...bleh, seems like u are beat I dunno. FWF's river lead is interesting in theory but I dont think I like it.

5. I just call this flop and go from there, but I could be convinced otherwise. THis is a great problem and also deserves its own thread like hand 1. Been talking to some good players about it and have dissected it pretty good...more to come on this.

6. weird hand, do whatever

7. Man I think u are beat here. Folding could be expert

8. Vs anyone but a real tricky thinking player u are toast, but it is a good place for a bluff by your opponent cause your hand strength is face up

my 2 cents FWIW

Seems like a decent option to me. I normally do both a significant % of the time. Why do you think a check raise might be better? Pros / Cons?

I still like to 3bet the flop here. He is screwed so often when he shoves in that spot that he cant really push without a monster.

B Buddy,

why is it you never go for a c/r when you hit your draw? You always seem to lead out and allow your opponent, who is drawing slim, get away from the hand. The other ones your opponent appears to have a good enough hand to bet for you and may have a hand that's not get-awayable. Most of your draws that got there were hidden enough to jizz in the face of your opponent with a monster checkraise.

5) If you push all in: the obvious downside is that when you are behind you get called everytime and very few worse hand are calling this all in. And you are putting in a lot of money as a 2:1 dog or more. Pushing all in just serves to let the hands you have crushed off really easy. The one benefit is if the flush card comes on the turn the money is already in and your opponent can't get away with a lower flush or set. This is not enough to offset the fact that you're making your opponent make an easy decision.

It seems you are much better off calling the flop and then reevaluating the turn. What to do on a flush card or blank is very interesting and I would like to see that discussed.
