The first time pre-historic man looked out from his cave, and saw water falling from the sky, accompanied by high winds, scary lightning, and terrifying thunder, he realized that no man or animal could make all those things happen.
And he couldn't stand the thought of not knowing what caused those things. So he made something up. Having a crazy explanation was better than no explanation at all. Not knowing is discomforting, as well as frightenting. Man just cannot stand having that huge gap in their understanding of what's going on around them, so they fill that gap with literally anything. Any explanation, no matter how far-fetched, is better than none at all. (This also explains why gamblers who know nothing about probabilities start to believe that losing streaks are caused by such things as "this dealer doesn't like me, even though I haven't given her any reason to feel that way.") Our caveman suggested his crazy explanation to his fellow cavemen. They couldn't come up with any better explanation, so they bought into his. From there, the legend grew. |

French Fry Physics
If you are driving and eating fast food at the same time, pick up a french fry, and notice it is broken, the molecular bonds keeping the fry in one piece will only hold together as long as the fry is over the bag. You can shake it back and forth, up and down, whatever. It will not come apart. As soon as you lift the fry towards your mouth, and it clears the area of the bag opening, it will break, generally falling between the console and the driver's seat. Occasionally, if you are wearing some manner of light-colored clothing, it will land on your lap/shirt, as appropriate. |

When I first saw "Freddie Got Fingered" i theorized that Tom Green was just ahead of his time, and at some point in time the movie would actually be funny. I'm still waiting.
