I dont think he dropped his shoulder into Barrett either... but I would love to know what was said between the two.

AJP went in a little hard. But I agree: you block the plate, you take what comes. I've never understood how it's legal to block the plate anyway. If a first baseman did hat to a runner coming in, it would be interference, wouldn't it?

I believe Boris was referring to after the collision when AJP got up and made contact with Barrett again. [/ QUOTE ] Thankyou. |

Nothing like a 175 pound runner trying to take out a 220 pound catcher late in a tie game. |

Apparently Carlos Zambrano thought AJ Pierzynski was being too demonstrative rounding the bases today on his home run. AJ clapped his hands rounding second base and Zambrano took exception. This is the same Zambrano that routinely stares at batters all the way around the diamond on thier home run trots. The same Zambrano that points to the sky and fist pumps when he strikes out batters. Carlos Zambrano thinks hitters should show a little more class when they pwn him. Carlos freaking Zambrano!!!
LOL!!! Really classy display by Zambrano and Barrett this weekend. Cubs fans should be proud. |

Zambrano has always been a bit of a head case and his antics are a bit over the top sometimes. That aside, he is a damn good pitcher who seems to perform better when he works himself up so I guess you have to take the good with the bad.
As I sure your well aware, all teams have players, managers or fans whos antics are not always classy. I dont think I have to provide examples for you. |

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] AJP got up and made contact with Barrett again. [/ QUOTE ] By this, of course you mean by AJ going out of his way to walk around Barrett and Barrett bearhugging him, right? [/ QUOTE ] Did we watch the same play? AJ dropped his shoulder into Barret and made no effort to walk around him. [/ QUOTE ] No, you must have watched some other play. The one I watched showed AJ with arms at his side, and head down, attempting to walk around Barrett to go retrieve his helmet. |

Im not trying to say that AJ was instigating, but other then a bat near home when there might be a play at the plate or a corked bat ala Sammy, what major leaguer retrieves their own equipment?
